Dulverton

Visual Identity and Label Design

A new Tasmanian whisky distillery, based in Oatlands, needed help with developing their brand. As well as the visual design of the bottle labels, a product name and unique identity were required to help position their whisky. The name Dulverton is synonymous with the area, and it strongly reflects the history and cultural aspects of the village of Oatlands. It is also the name of the lake from where the distillery draws its water.

The label had to suit global exports as well as local tourism. The final design is from a flour millstone, similar to those used in the nearby 1837 Callington Flour Mill.

The accompanying font is strong with sharp elements and sits comfortably alongside the millstone motif, both offering a contemporary aesthetic with a historical slant, giving it the potential to appeal to a wide demographic of whisky enthusiasts.

Bellingham

Visual Identity and Label Design

The client, a local olive oil producer, requested a label for their square-sided, half-litre olive oil bottles. They were particularly eager to include an aged-tree image as the central focus of the design. They also wanted to include a coloured gradient and a fun, handwritten-style font.

We saw an opportunity to create an original vector illustration that could be adopted for use with other products, their pickle jar labels for example.

As an added extra, we created a visual identity for the enterprise by designing a wordmark logo for the business name. We placed an emphasis on tradition and prestige, to better place the business among some of the other more established oil producers in the area.

Whisk & Co

Café Logo Redesign

The owners were looking for a shift away from their current, very rustic identity to something more modern and appropriate for the business. A design to reflect the “passion and perfection” that runs through everything they do, from their exquisite coffee to their modern Australian inspired menu.

The outcome was a contemporary logo design with text elements that can also stand alone as a wordmark, and offers flexibility for the numerous activities involved in a cafe’s branding and marketing.

Mascot-style Logo

The design goal for this client was to create a fun Instagram logo, with heaps of potential for future use (think of a builder’s trailer wrap, baseball caps).

The final design features a dynamic cartoon tiger wearing a black cap hat, sunnies, and a tool belt, and carrying a rear handled saw. All elements (including tools and gloves) were hand-sketched then drawn in Illustrator as a vector file.

The text font used is ‘Architect’s Daughter’ – a relaxed-style, open source Google font that has the square-shaped look of architectural handwriting, very appropriate for that line of work.
